9/1/2005  · If you concentrate and go very slowly, nothing will happen, but if you take off from a stop normally, you feel as if someone has hit you from behind. The Chevy dealership has lubed the splines and given us a bulletin from GM stating that this is Driveline Lash and is normal in all newer trucks.

Driveline Lash 03-19-2018, 09:30 AM. Does anyone feel there is excessive driveline lash on the new bike, or is this typical of Goldwings. I find it takes very smooth throttle control to keep the drive from banging around. I will adapt, just curious. The narrow clutch engagement point is something I hope the dealer can address and improve upon.

4/5/2006  · Generally speaking driveline backlash is not a concern unless it is an indicator of abnormal wear, such as in some R380 gearbox output shafts or the drive plates on the rear of late 110s, or wear on U-joints or prop shaft splines. In my experience the most common source of backlash other than the above is worn thrust washers in the centre diff.

11/2/2004  · If you are truly speaking of driveline lash , my understanding is that there should be *no* perceptable lash in the driveline. I’m guessing that if you are simply putting it up on the centerstand, putting it in gear and rocking the rear wheel back and forth.

5/13/2016  · It sounds like drive shaft lash/noise when releasing/applying the clutch in 1st or 2nd at low speeds like going over a speed bump or from a slow crawl. I had very little or much less in my last 3 manual transmission cars (mazdaspeed6, Audi A4 quattro, BMW 525i) as my points of reference and driving along the same stretch of roads.
